I’ve changed the formatting around a bit this week, and moved anything to do with Coolie Rocks On to that page, but also included the accommodation adverts on the page: Venues/Accom. I will be working on remodelling it over the next month or two when time permits. I’ve added a new page called Pauline’s Bits and Pieces, where I will put reports from time to time on activities I’ve done. (I’ve done a lot over the last week or two.)
I hope with the headings, it makes it easier to read. New news is spread throughout, so read to the end. Pauline.

WHAT’S ON THIS WEEK:
Gold Coast Rockers have Shindig playing this Wednesday 25 May, and it’s Week 4 for beginners lessons at 7.15pm, so tell your friends. The Intermediate Class is at 6.30pm.

Heartbeat Rockers - On Tuesday 24th May they are teaching part 2 of Hilton’s Cha-Cha over the next two weeks at the Mudgeeraba hall next to Woodchoppers Inn, with part 3 on 31st. Rob & Kath will update their Tuesday programme soon, check under Dance Classes, Heartbeat Rockers, on the website.
Thursday 26 May is week 5 of beginners lessons.
The band On The Move are playing, and last time they played it was a packed house and the dance floor was full till 10.30, so come along for another great night with your friends.

THEATRE
If anyone is interested in joining us in a group booking, we are going to see Heather performing in the Tweed Theatre production called Lola Montez at the Tweed Civic Centre on Friday 27th May at 7.30pm. Doors open at 6pm. Table seating (10 per table, BYO drinks & finger food / nibbles). Please meet by 7pm. Pay at the door, but let them know you’re booked under my name. I have 12 going, so need another 8 to get 2 tables next to one another, we have a group concession, so instead of $26, it’s only $21. Call Pauline on 0410 291 173 if you can join us, so I can confirm the numbers.
It is on Fri 27 and Sat 28, with a show at 7:30pm, with table seating (10 per table, BYO drinks and nibbles, concession group bookings available), and on Sat 28 and Sun 29, at 1:30pm, with Theatre seating. Booking office Ph 5576 7601.

Dolphins Leagues Club
I know quite a few of you have already replied to me regarding attending our next organized dance gig, “Putting On the Ritz” however June 4th is approaching quickly, tickets are selling and for catering, we require final numbers by the 27th May.
We plan to bring forward the start of the evening to 7pm now with a small ensemble playing some layback jazzy tunes to get everyone in the mood - the Big Bands will commence around 7.45pm.
At $35/head it's a pretty good deal: cocktail finger food is to be served around 8pm, but please note that hors d'oeuvers are being provided, so you may wish to avail yourself of the club's good bistro and cafe facilities, prior to the gig.
It's going to be a great night, with 2 big bands, a great dance floor, bar service all night and "lucky" prizes for those best/worse dancers/singers, etc.

CHANGE OF VENUE:
We are very sad to announce that after running classes at the Lost City Hotel in Coomera for a number of years we have been advised that we can no longer teach there as hotel management have decided to use the room for their own, regular events.
Monday, 9th May will be our last class at the Lost City Hotel! :-(
Rest assured we are trying very hard to find an alternative venue as soon as possible so as not to disappoint all our lovely, loyal students.
So watch this space for updates and notices as soon as they come to hand!

Ron Payne had to change his Sunday night classes to a Monday night, 7:30 at the CWA Hall, between Griffith St & Marine Pde, Coolangatta. 1 hour of ceroc, rock ‘n’ roll, partner dancing, waltz, etc. Mixed night. $5 entry, tea or coffee provided. (see dance classes).

Just Rock Ipswich have sent me some updated information on their classes, so I’ve updated that on the website under dance classes, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and in the downloadable gig guide under dance classes, as well as included them in every week in the daily gig guide. They mainly do rockabilly.

Norfolk Island Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival
- September 15th - 22nd 2011. Dance On are going along with another support act and two teachers (Pauline Schafer and Michael Asma) for dance classes. Plane only holds 200 so get in early for best seats and accommodation houses. Plenty of free time for exploring the island too. All systems go now for the festival. Lessons in morning or afternoon, and dance in evenings. (see flyer on Special Events page on website.)
